I'm Frustrated with Bad MLM Leads

I like to try different lead vendors for MLM leads to see how they work for me and see how their systems work. I have spent thousands of dollars over the past year with very mixed results. Some have a low percent of connections and people interested in a business opportunity. Others have a much higher percent of connections and a higher percent of people interested in a new opportunity.


So why am I frustrated with purchasing MLM leads? When you purchase leads and find that the vast majority of people have no interest in any type of business, you know they have simply filled out some type of survey that has little or nothing to do with a business opportunity or even making money. That is like opening the phonebook and calling people. Imagine owning a store and going out on the sidewalk to sell your goods to anyone that happens to walk by. You might find a few if there is heavy traffic, but I would be very frustrated. Another frustration is when leads are supposed to be verified and are not. Even if the company does give you more leads, the waste of time is enormous.

So, how can you find the lead vendors that are real performers? Most of the vendors do not generate their own leads. However, those that do or those that verify the leads have a much higher percent of people interested in starting a new business opportunity. I have found 2 new lead vendors that really seem to have good lead sources – in these cases they either verify the leads or have the lead delivered to me by in minutes from the point of origination. In both cases, the leads are generic, since they are not promoting any particular business, so you do need excellent conversational skills. In my opinion, if you are developing conversation skills, using a quality vendor is a low cost way to do it.

I have found that either of these types of purchased MLM leads is just as effective as having the more expensive, company specific lead which is redirected to your site. This keeps advertising costs down and allows for more a more successful business. When you have attracted a steady stream of people to your business, you can then try more targeted leads like adwords or lead co-ops that do the work for you. These will be more expensive leads, so your conversation skills better be good.
