The transition from being a healthcare executive to an internet entrepreneur has been interesting and challenging. I am finally being successful at being an internet entrepreneur. It takes a lot more discipline for me when I am able to work whenever I want to than when I was in office with a full schedule. There are so many potential interruptions and distractions now that I have found even when I schedule myself for revenue generating work, prospecting and responding to inquires, I often find my time shortchanged on the money making activity.
This week I had 3 appointments in prime time work hours. Workout and other daily activities take longer than I thought, so that is also impacting my schedule. Friday I leave for New York with my son for his college audition, so that make up day and weekend is out as well.
During “entrepreneur boot camp” this week, I find that I am able to do marketing activities well and on time, getting better each day and now I am able to schedule the time it takes to do those activities like article writing better.
I also find that I am very anxious if I cannot make my scheduled money making activities (talking to prospects), but I also find that I am able to squeeze in calls in shorter blocks of time than I thought. The other major thing that I have realized is that when I speak with someone who is genuinely interested in finding an opportunity, they are genuinely interested in learning about my opportunity nearly all of the time. This means that I am really getting better with conversation skills and with my ability to find out what people are really looking for. This if fun and profitable and if you follow a similar “boot camp“strategy of getting a business up and running, you will be successful too!
